How To Attract People To Your Stand At Exhibitions

BY Rebecca | 23 June, 2015 | no comments

Some businesses need to be proactive to survive. This goes from securing contracts and funding, to finding employees. Going to conventions and exhibitions relevant to your business aids this greatly. You get to network with like minded people working in the same industry as you.

This can be very beneficial. What if nobody is coming over to your stand though? That can have a negative impact on your business. It could even make the whole trip a waste. Don’t worry though, there are ways to get people’s attention.

Keep It Simple

Don’t overload your prospective audience with information. It might be tempting to fit in as much as you can about your business. It will only serve to bore people though. If there is information you think they must know, reduce it down to as short as possible.

Maybe utilise bullet points as a tool to get information across quickly and efficiently. Keep the typeface simplistic too. The information won’t be any good if it is written in barely legible calligraphy styled typeface.

Get A Professional

If the design of your stand isn’t coming easily to you, get a professional involved. The benefits of having a professional involved is that they know what works and what doesn’t. You’re coming in from the layman’s perspective. You don’t have a proper grasp of the psychology involved in creating an attractive design.

It can have a lot to do with shapes or colours. There’s little chance you know the theory behind that, so instead you have to let a professional step in. As to where you can find one, click here for exhibition stand design professionals.

Free Gifts

A good way to get people over to your stand is with free things. It might seem shallow to have to attract people like this, but if it works why complain?

It doesn’t have to be anything of great value. A free tote bag or set of pens might be enough to draw a few people over. Even a bowl of free sweets might bring in a few people looking for a sugar fix in the middle of a dragging convention.

If you want to push the boat out a little more with a more expensive free gift, you can. A good way to do this is to organise a raffle. Each visitor to the stand gets a raffle ticket for a chance to win the free gift.

You have to make the gift something people want to come visit the stand for though. As long as it is something general like a television that almost everybody will want, you should see a nice influx of people.

Be Friendly & Engaging

Most important of all. Don’t put people off through a sour demeanor, it’ll only serve to cause problems. People don’t like to engage with grumpy people. If you want people to come to your stand, be enthusiastic and welcoming.

So there we have it. Four great ways to get eyes on your stand at an exhibition. Have fun!
