Fantastic Buisness Steps That Most People Forget

BY Rebecca | 17 September, 2015 | no comments

I know what you’re going to say; there’s so much involved in running a business that we’re bound to forget something! Well, yes, that’s true. But these are aspects that might be more important than you know. By nailing these steps, you’ll save yourself from the pitfalls that ensnare so many.

Trust me on this, these are essential to the development, future, and integrity of your brand. If you let a couple of other things slip, no big deal. But these are the big ones. And you need to make sure you remember to action these!

Ensure I’m Active Abroad

I like to put feelers out as much as I can by way of business expansion. It’s great to be a national brand, but I’m ambitious, so I’m looking to go multinational. Now, many business owners get so bogged down in perfecting their domestic reputation they miss the bigger picture. To succeed on a corporate level, you eventually need to expand into a global company. And I would suggest the best place to start is to make sure you’re active in other countries. Try to get a few clients from abroad. Then spend a bit of extra care and attention on giving them the service they crave. This will open up the foreign marketplace for you.

Copyright

Now, you’d be surprised by just how many business owners forget about this step. The first thing I do when I come up with a design, idea or prototype is to copyright it. I’ll visit www.londonip.co.uk and make sure I consult with them about copyrighting and patenting my ideas. That way I protect the integrity and future of my brand. It means my ideas are my own, and nobody else can pinch them. So I cut out the risk and ensure I’m going to enjoy the profit margins I deserve from my intellectual property.

Register Business Name

This is similar to the previous one, and, again, I’m always amazed how many businesses forget to do this. There’s a lot involved in a name, and it can help to define your company. So once you’ve settled on the perfect name you’ve got to protect it as much as you can. This means you’ve got to register the name in the correct way. And if someone else has the name already registered you’ll have to get creative. I always make sure this stage, and securing copyright, is my number one priority. And I can’t stress enough how important this is.

Get a Business Partner

Another technique I have adopted in the past is to get a business partner. Newsflash – you don’t have to do everything yourself! Often, two brains are better than one. So bring someone you trust on board as your business partner. That way you can share the load, and both of you can work together to run the business. It keeps you from getting burnt out too quickly. And it means you’re less likely to overlook important things.

So, this is my list of all the techniques I listed that might help you. Of course, there are many more that will help you with your business. But, these are the ones that most entrepreneurs overlook. If you can remember to take care of these areas you’re going to enjoy a successful career as a business owner.
